Ellie is Here

When I woke up the morning of the 8th I could not walk. On Tuesday the 6th I was dilated to a 4 plus so I knew I would be having her soon.  Braden stayed home from work to take care of Kaden because I really could barely hobble around let alone take care of my crazy Kaden.  I wasn't having contractions so I didn't want to go in because I had been in earlier that week and my contractions weren't consistant enough to keep me even though I was at a 4.  Lisa asked me if I had called my Doctor to tell him that I couldn't walk and see what he wanted me to do.  For some odd reason before she said I should call  my doctor I didn't even think about calling him.  And I didn't call him for another 3 or so hours after lisa said I should.  When I called my the doctor he told me to come to their office and they would track my contractions to see what was going on.  I was hooked up to the machine for probably 20 min and it showed that I was just having a constant contraction that wasn't very hard.  My doctor checked me and I was at at 5+ so he called the hospital and said I would be coming over to have my baby.  I was in shock at that point because I really didn't think I would be having her that day.  I went to the doctors office by myself and I just figured they would give me some pain meds or something and send me home. I was trying to be really brave as I drove myself over to the hospital and walked in by myself. Once I got in the gown and on the bed I lost it.  I was so sad that I didn't get to tell Kaden bye and that I love him.  I'm not sure the rules on having 18mo olds in labor and delivery but when Braden got there he snuck Kaden in so I could tell him bye.  When my nurse checked probably 40 min after Dr. Chalmers checked me I was at a 6+.  I labored for 2 hours without an epidural. and finally at a 7+ I got my epidural and things were great for about 30 min.  I started feeling a lot of cramping on my right side so my nurse told me to dose my epidural a couple of times to see if that would help.  It didn't help and it had been about 2 hours since I had been checked and since I had the epidural.  When my nurse finally went to check me she opened my legs and ellie was about to come out.  She hurried and called for Dr. Chalmers and within 10 min I was getting ready to push.  Before I started pushing, Dr. Chalmers told me to sit up a little bit, and when I did Ellie popped out.  It was a very easy and laid back delivery. Ellie came out very healthy.  Her pediatrician thought she might be at risk for a high bilirubin since our blood types are different, but she was just fine.  We are so grateful Ellie is here and we love her so much!
Calvin is 1 day short of being 1 mo. older then Ellie.  At 3 days old she weighed more then Calvin did at 1 month old.

Catch Up

I am very behind so my catch up will be mostly in pictures.  yes we went to Disneyland for a 2nd time this year. We went the last weekend in August.  Kaden enjoyed it more this time around but I on the other hand didn't enjoy it as much as when we went in April.  Ellie was sitting really low causing a lot of pelvic and back pain so It was hard for me to walk around a lot.
Kaden "ran" the swiss days 5K with his aunts Lauren and Sam.  If he would have actually run the whole thing by himself he would have won first place in his age group, but since he had lots of stroller help he wasn't allowed to place.
Braden ran the marathon with everyone in his family except for me, Dennis, and Sam.
Braden did great!  He didn't train at all and he actually ran it 20 min faster then when he and I ran it in 2009 and we did train.
I was 33 wks pregnant and Sam was 35 wks pregnant
Kaden was Iron Man for Halloween.  He was the cutest Iron Man I have ever seen.  Kaden is really into doing ninja moves, but I couldn't find a ninja costume small enough for him so we settle with iron man.  He still thought he was a ninja though.  He really enjoyed trick or treating this year.  He would go knock on peoples doors and then when they would answer he would walk right into their house.  I was very large pregnant so Braden got to chase him from door to door pulling him out of peoples houses while I just stood back and watched and giggled a little bit.

R.I.P Harley

Our poor dog Harley passed away early in the morning on August 10th.  He lived at my parents house because when we moved from cedar we couldn't have pets at our house.  My parents were generous enough to take care of him for us.  Kaden and I went out and visited Harley Aug. 7th and he seemed a little lethargic and I had noticed that there was throw up by his food bowl but I didn't think too much of it.  My mom called me that night and said that Harley hadn't really had an appetite for the past 4 days and she had noticed throw up in the dog cage.  I told her to text me in the morning how he was doing so i could decide if we needed to take him to the vet.  In the morning my mom said Harley was pooping blood and he still hadn't eaten anything.  Braden and I took him to the vet and the vet wasn't sure what it was but he didn't think it was too serious.  He gave us some pills to give him and he thought it should clear it up within a week.  Braden and I decided that even though we weren't allowed to have pets at our house that we would take him there to take care of him because I didn't want my mom to have to deal with a sick dog.  We had to force feed harley oat meal or whatever we could poor down his throat.   He wouldn't really drink either so we had to use a syringe to put fluid down his throat.  Thursday I thought he was doing better. He had more energy and he would drink water on his own.  When we woke up friday morning harley was dead in his kennel.  It was quite devastating because I thought he was doing better and the whole time we were taking care of him I never thought that he was going to die.  Braden and I didn't know what to do, but we did know that we had to take care of him before the sun came up and before it got too hot.  We had him loaded into the truck by 5 A.M. and braden's manager at UPS called him and told him he had to come in because they were short on people.  So Braden took harley with him to work because he had no choice.  We didn't get harley taken care of until 11 friday afternoon.  It was a very sad ending to harley's life but it is a bit comical that he had to go to work with Braden.  We still don't know for sure what happened to harley but from all the symptoms he was having it looks like he was poisoned.  Poor Kaden was so sad when he woke up and Harley wasn't at our house for him to play with.  When we go to my parents he still looks for him out the back window.  Braden and Kaden can't wait for the day we get another dog.

Mr. Fix It

I have a hard time letting Kaden play out front because A-it is too hot and B- as soon as I open the door he doesn't stop running and I have a hard time keeping up with him and keeping him out of the road.  So Kaden gets to play in the garage a lot because I don't have to chase him.  He really likes to get Braden's tools and pretend to fix stuff.  It is really cute and he thinks he is so big!!

Oregon

We went to Oregon the very end of July to visit the Jorgensen clan. I will mostly let the pictures explain what we did.
Taizlee and Kaden were so excited to be at the Zoo

We went to John's Incredible Pizza and had so much fun!
I do believe that Braden kicked Shawn's butt.

The ocean was probably my favorite part! The water was freezing but it was still so fun.  We couldn't keep Kaden out of the water.  I'm almost 6 months pregnant. I think these might be the first pictures of me pregnant with Ellie.
We went to Voodo Doughnuts right before Braden flew home.  Braden had to leave on Sunday so he could be back to work on Monday.
I wish I could remember the name of the falls, but I don't.  If you are really curious visit Jana's blog and it will have the name of them on there.  Ignore my strange non smile in the picture above.
flying with Kaden wasn't the funnest thing I have done.  On the way to Oregon we had a 3 hour delay so that didn't help our situation because Kaden was so done with not being able to run free by the time we got on the plane that he was really hard to handle the whole flight.  Luckily my family was on the plane with us and they helped a lot.  On the way home, before the seat belt light went off, Kaden threw up all over me.  Luckily I had some pj's I could change Kaden into, but I didn't have anything for me to change into so it was a bit of a smelly ride the rest of the way.  He fell asleep as soon as we landed. We had  so much fun in Oregon.  Thank you so much to the Jorgensen's for letting us come stay at your house and eat your food!!!

Park Day

Kaden thought these silly toys at the park were so fun.  At first he was scared of the dinosaur but he started roaring at the dinosaur and when it didn't roar back he wasn't scared anymore.
