Happy Birthday Kaden

Kaden turned one on April 18, 2012. I can't believe my baby boy is one.  Kaden has the cutest personality.  He makes me so happy every single day.  Every morning when he wakes up he snuggles with me for about 20 min.  Those 20 minutes of snuggling are the best 20 min of my day.  He will give me hugs and kisses whenever I ask for them.  He loves dogs, especially Harley and Shadow.  He barks like a dog anytime he sees a dog.  He loves reading books. Every morning when he is going to the bathroom on the potty I bring him a book to read and he gets so excited.  His favorite show to watch is the Backyardigains.  That show was a real lifesaver for the first 4 months of my pregnancy.  All I had to do was give him his drink and he would lounge back on the couch and watch the backyardigains until I couldn't handle listening to it anymore.  Kaden has always been so good and happy. I couldn't ask for a better child.  He brings so much joy to our lives.

Welcome Home Elder Mitchell

Nate came home from his mission in Brazil on April 13, 2012.  We missed him the 2 years he was gone.  He came home to 3 new nephews(Hayden was only a month old when he left) and 2 pregnant sister-in-laws.

Easter 2012

Easter this year was a little different.  I was sick and Kaden was up the whole night before.  We stayed at Braden's parents house the night before Easter so we could celebrate with them early in the morning before church.  Kaden slept in our room since we were at braden's parents house. He didn't feel very well so he was up all night crying. Therefore, Braden and I were up all night trying to keep Kaden from waking everybody up.  Non of us were very perky for Easter.  We did Easter with Braden's family then we went home to our house.  They boys slept all day and I threw up all day.  We went out to my parents house that night for an Easter dinner and egg hunt.  Kaden didn't get the concept of searching for eggs, but he had a fun time playing outside with the rest of the kids.
Papa and Grandma Great came down the beginning of March for Madix's blessing and Danny's baptism.  We sure do love when they come visit.

Grandma holding Brynlee and Kaden

Grandpa bought this tractor from an auction and he had it dropped off at my parent house so he could pick it up when they came down.  It wouldn't start when it got to my parents house, but all the boys in the family worked very diligently to get it working by the time my grandpa took it home.  Once they got it working all the guys took turns driving it down the street.

Happy Family

During February work for Braden was a little slow, so we got to spend some quality family time together.  Anytime Kaden is outside he is happy.  Kaden loves his dad so much.  Whenever Braden gets home Kaden always runs to him and gives him a big hug and kiss.  Our children are lucky to have Braden as their dad.

The Van Boerum Bunch

Sam and I headed down to California after Grandma Mitchell's funeral on Feb. 4th to babysit the Van Boerum children while Sarah and Rob went on a Cruise.  Their cruise didn't go so well, but we had a blast with their children! Kaden loved always having someone around to play with.

Gracie and Kaden playing together

Ethan, Maddie, and Gracie really wanted to take a bath with Kaden.
They had so much fun, they didn't want to get out.

We went to a beach in Carlsbad one day to meet up with one
of Sam's friends.  Kaden was mostly interested in eating the sand.
The other children played their little hearts out.  All the kids fell
asleep in the car on the way home.

Baby Madix

We were able to watch Taizlee while Jana was having Madix.  Taizlee and Kadan always have fun together.  Taizlee is such a big helper and she likes to be Kaden's mommy.  The best part is that Kaden doesn't even mind.  We sure do miss having them live so close to us! We can't wait to go visit them in Oregon in July!!!

Grandma Mitchell

Our dear Grandma Mitchell Passed away January 31, 2012.  She was Diagnosed with multiple myeloma around March of 2011.  She fought a very hard and valiant fight.  We were able to spend time with her right before she passed.  It was a very difficult time but she knew her calling here was complete and it was her time to go.   I am sad that Kaden didn't get to know her very well but I know she is watching over him.  I know that our future children will come to us already having been taught and loved on by grandma mitchell.  I will always hold the memories of grandma and what an amazing lady she was close to my heart.
